Our 2020 Events

The Board of the Lincolnshire Vintage Vehicle Society have to announce that they have regrettably cancelled the Transport Festival on 1 November, and have also confirmed that the Museum will remain closed for this season.

Steve Milner , the LVVS Chairman, says “the decision was the only one we could make based on the uncertainty at the moment, as safety for our volunteers and visitors is paramount and lots of planning has to take place early on.”

“Like many similar museums we will take a big financial hit this year which is a concern as we wanted to continue with projects such as recommissioning of the 1930 Roe bodied Leyland Lion LT1 (TF 818) formerly with Lancashire United Transport, and the 1935 Trent Motor Traction BMMO SOS DON (RC 2721). The latter Brush bodied bus is devoid of seats as it was later used as a booking office at Skegness and modified for that role, but at the beginning of the year we were planning to have a (wood framed) set made from scratch and the kind folks at the Transport Museum Wythall had lent us a correct style seat to copy.”

“Our two cancelled festivals this year have left us short to the tune of around £ 15K plus so we will now have to see what can be achieved.”

“We hope to welcome visitors to the Museum and our events again in the new year, and will post updates on the website and social media.

We will be conacting Castle Rally entrants and Transport Festival stallholders who have booked as soon as possible.
