Open Day - Cars	Castle Rally	Open Day - Buses

The Society organises three major events each year - two 'Open Days' at the Museum, which take place on Easter Sunday and the first Sunday in November each year, and a vehicle rally in the grounds of Lincoln Castle in June.

Castle Rally

This is our main event of the year for cars, motor cycles and small commercial vehicles, set in the elegant surroundings of Lincoln Castle in the heart of Lincoln's historic Cathedral Quarter. Up to 200 vehicles attend this annual and prestigious event, held in June each year.

Open Days

Our long established Open Days allow visitors access to the 'hidden' areas of our Museum, including our workshop, and a chance to see some of the vehicles - including those awaiting and under restoration - which are not normally on public display. The Museum hosts our own refreshments stand, as well as several visiting enthusiasts' sales stalls. A variety of visiting vehicles - ranging from motor cycles through cars and small commercial vehicles to large commercials and buses and coaches - visits for the day. Also, many of our cars and buses take to the road for the day and offer a chance to see, hear - and of course travel on - yesterday's transport.

The 'bus services' for this event have grown in recent years - many visiting buses and coaches, both regular and one-off visitors from around the country join with our own 'fleet' to provide free services for our visitors, the Easter event usually sees around 15 buses 'in service', the 'end of season' event in November has around 25.

Our next 'Open Day' is on Sunday 2 November - this event will have a 'Bristol' theme, to mark the centenary of Bristol Commercial Vehicles - suppliers of many of Lincolnshire's buses from 1946 to 1982, although other vehicles will of course be welcome to take part! Other Events

Our vehicles often get out and about from the Museum and can be seen at other events and vehicle rallies around Lincolnshire and beyond.

We usually take part in the 'Discover Greater Lincoln' weekend in early March each year and a service over the May Day bank holiday weekend connecting our Museum with the Museum of Lincolnshire Life's "Steam and Oil" event.

One regular outing is the RAF Waddington Air Show each year. A number of our vehicles are on display in one of the Hangars, and some of our buses operate a 'park and ride' service to and from the airfield car parks.
