Additional Opening hours may apply at special events.
The Museum is normally open from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm on Bank Holiday Mondays at Easter, May Day, Spring Bank Holiday (Whitsun) and August Bank Holiday. Arrangements for 2012 will be confirmed nearer the time.
Group and School Visits
Group and school visits are welcome by arrangement throughout the year - please contact us to discuss your requirements. We are pleased to offer a complimentary advance visit for teachers to plan teaching materials and carry out a risk assessment.
Bus- The nearest bus stop is near the 'Swanholme' Public House on Doddington Road less than 5 minutes' walk from the Museum - this is served by Stagecoach Lincolnshire bus service 44 (new timetable from January 2012), Lincoln - Boultham Moor - Doddington Road - Birchwood which runs every 15 minutes on Mon - Sat daytimes. Evening and Sunday buses are provided by Stagecoach Lincolnshire service 27A , again to the 'Swanholme' stop. We are between the times for Birchwood Neighbourhood Centre and North Hykeham Church. (Note that timetables open as 'pdf' files with 'Acrobat Reader' or similar.)

Train - Hykeham Railway station, a few minutes walk away from the Museum, is served by East Midlands Trains services between Lincoln and Newark / Nottingham. For times, contact National Rail Enquiries (or by phone on 08457 48 49 50.)
Alternatively, you can plan a journey to the Museum by bus / train from anywhere within the East Midlands Region, or plan a walking / cycling route with Traveline, or by either public transport or car (from anywhere in the UK) with Transport Direct (These pages are already set up to take you to the Museum - you only need to enter your starting point.)
The museum has its own car park, although at special events, special parking arrangements may apply, so please see the web page about that event. There is a cycle stand close to the entrance door.
The car park has marked spaces for disabled drivers, and the Museum, including both toilets, is accessible to wheelchair users.
