Museum News
The Museum took part in the fifth 'Greater Lincoln Attractions' weekend over 8 / 9 March, with over 200 visitors coming to the Museum. Four of our vehicles, FW 5698 (Leyland Tiger TS7), DBE 187 (Bristol K6A), LFW 326 (Bristol LD6B) and PFE 542V (Bristol VR) operated a network of free bus services on the Sunday, linking various attractions in and around the City.
A new item on display in our Museum is a section of near side panelling from former Lincolnshire Road Car Bristol VR 1963 (SVL 173W) which received a special livery in 1995 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of VE Day (a photo of it in service can be seen here. The bus has since been withdrawn from service and scrapped, but this section of panelling was retained and donated to us by Stagecoach Lincolnshire.
Our traditional 'start of season' Open Day took place on
Easter Sunday, 23 March, despite wintry weather at the start of the day.
A report can be seen
