Preservation Prospect - 1927 Leyland 'Lion' PLSC1
News of a survivor in need of rescue has recently come to our attention.
TY 3763, a Leyland bodied PLSC1 Leyland 'Lion' was new to Amos Proud of Choppington, Northumberland in September 1927, passing to United Automobile Services a year later, and transferred to the Boston area in time to be transferred with United's Boston based operations to Lincolnshire Road Car in 1931, becoming fleet no. 132.
No. 132 stayed with Lincolnshire Road Car until 1951, being one of the last surviving ex United buses. It was then exported, and was used as a caravan until around 1960.
The current owner is now wondering if anyone might offer this Lion a good home.
The only snag is it is currently resident in Tasmania, Australia. Please contact us for more information.
